We’re pleased to share that we have a new subscription to ProQuest, including the following resources:
- British Nursing Collection (1994 - current), which is a leading database for nurses, midwives, health visitors and nursing associates in the UK.
- Health Research Premium Collection (1946 - current), providing international coverage of medicine, health administration, nursing and allied health
ProQuest also includes several useful free databases, including Coronavirus Research Database, Education Research Index and Publicly Available Content Database, which brings together links to full text from a range of open access sources.
You don’t need any special searching skills to get started with ProQuest, and there are lots of very useful features (e.g. ProQuest can do Harvard, APA and Vancouver referencing for you!). You can create an individual MyResearch account so you can save your favourite articles and searches, set up alerts, choose which referencing system you want to use as default and link to a RefWorks account.
There’s a link to ProQuest in the Online Resources section of our website – log in to our website with OpenAthens by clicking WEBSITE LOGIN at the top right of the screen.
If you don’t have an OpenAthens account from us, click the OpenAthens Registration link at the top of the page and fill in the online registration form. This is available free for all UHCW staff, students on placement and clinical attachments.
If you would like to book a 30-minute Introduction to ProQuest session, please e-mail helga.perry@uhcw.nhs.uk. These are available face to face in the CSB Library on Thursdays and Fridays or via Teams on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
