Last week our Knowledge Skills Librarian, Beth Jackson, was surprised with a Making a Difference award! The awards, sponsored by UHCW Charity, celebrate those who go above and beyond to enhance the experience of patients and make a difference to communities and/or colleagues.

Beth was nominated for her dedication to teaching UHCW staff, supporting their professional development through improving their research skills and providing dedicated one-to-one support for staff balancing higher education with their clinical roles.

We were thrilled to hear the positive feedback from users in her nomination and it was wonderful to see the impact of knowledge and library services being recognised in the trust. We've included a sample of these lovely impact statements below. Congratulations Beth! 🎉

“The library’s support and particularly my one-to-one session with Beth has been instrumental in my development... It is more than just a repository of information; it is a trusted partner in my journey towards becoming a competent and confident Advanced Clinical Practitioner.”

"Beth has been amazing during my research module. It wouldn’t have been possible to complete my masters and enjoy the journey without the support of Beth and the Library team. You guys are hardworking, inspiring, reliable and compassionate to all of us, so thank you all.”

“I'm thankful for your expertise and patience. Without your help, I couldn't have written and passed my essay on Advancing Research. I particularly admire your ability to explain complex concepts in a way that makes them easy for me to understand. I have completed and passed my masters, and you are a part of my success.”

"[Beth's] time and attention yesterday was unparalleled... the level of detail she afforded me on a new topic was amazing. Her knowledge and enthusiasm were great and I really appreciated her materials used and would have only expected her time like that to be afforded to a big group. but I am truly appreciative she could do so for me."
