Learning while working can be challenging at the best of times, but for the neurodivergent learner it can bring a unique set of challenges that neurotypical learners might not otherwise face. This month, we are participating in the Education Council's next Learners’ Café: a relaxed and welcoming event designed to celebrate neurodiversity and support all learners across UHCW. Whether you’re studying for a degree, enrolled on a CPD course, or supervising learners and placement students, this event is for you.

When: Wednesday 26th November, 12–2pm
Where: 1st Floor Atrium, Clinical Sciences Building

Come along to:

  • Meet fellow staff members with lived experience of neurodiversity at work and study.

  • Explore resources and get advice on time management, dealing with anxiety, rejection sensitivity and receiving feedback, and asking for reasonable adjustments.

  • Connect with the UHCW Neurodiverse Empowerment staff network and their new shared decision-making council.

  • Discover the range of support services available to you at UHCW, including resources and tailored training sessions from the library.

  • Studying at Coventry University? We'll have a student advisor on hand to answer your questions.

  • Take time out for mindful activities, crafts and games!

We’re keen to have open discussions about what it’s like to learn and study with neurodiversity, how colleagues and managers can best support neurodiverse learners, and what UHCW can do to make learning more inclusive for everyone.

There'll also be opportunities for you to share you feedback with the UHCW Education Shared Decision-Making Council & Neurodiverse Empowerment Staff Network as well, to help inform their future projects.
