Grow Together: Join Us for a Talk on the Seed Libraries!
Green Libraries Week (7th-13th October) kicks off today, and we've got a whole programme of events lined up for you, check our recent news pages for more information. We’re also thrilled to announce we'll be giving a talk about the UHCW Seed Library at Grand Round on Friday 11th October at 1pm. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the innovative ways libraries are championing sustainability and community engagement.
What’s a Seed Library, anyway?
If you haven’t heard of it yet, a seed library is a fantastic concept where community members can borrow seeds, grow plants, and then return seeds from their harvest to keep the cycle going. Think of it as a library, but instead of books, we’re sharing seeds! It’s a brilliant way to promote local gardening, preserve heirloom varieties, and foster a sense of community and wellbeing.
Let’s Connect!
This talk isn’t just about seeds; it’s about building networks. We’ll explore how seed libraries and shared endeavours can serve as hubs for connected working and providing a space for wellbeing.
Join Us!
Please bring your questions, your ideas, and maybe even a few seeds to share. Together, we can cultivate a greener, more connected community.
